The author says about the creation of the poems:
"Nicol's drawings absolutely captivated me - they forced me to stare at them and let the emotions hidden inside wash over me. In moments of admiration and release, when I was completely absorbed by these powerful impressions, words began to come to me, words that captured the feelings and situations within them; sometimes an entire line appeared, later even full rhymes. With some drawings, nothing happened - but with others, I could feel a theme bubbling in the air and an urge to give form to something that hadn't yet condensed into words. And it was from those that a poem emerged.
I began writing down whatever floated around my mind, and under my hands, expressive phrases, descriptions, and punchlines started to surface - things I could never have invented beforehand. The poems were born in the act of writing itself, without a plan and without thinking too much; rather than actively inventing the words, I simply waited for them to come to me. Most of the poems were created in one go, between February and May 2022."
